Paul Jones's current research engages the neglected theme of patience, and he is currently completing the first volume of a two-part constructive work on its significance for Christian thought (Patience: A Theological Exploration. Part I: From Creation to Christ, to be published by T&T Clark in 2021). These constructive interests are complemented by a longstanding fascination with the theology of Karl Barth. He is the author of a major monograph on Barth’s Christology, entitled The Humanity of Christ (T&T Clark), and coeditor of The Oxford Handbook of Karl Barth (Oxford University Press). Future projects include the second volume of Patience: A Theological Exploration; a coedited volume, titled Karl Barth and Liberation Theology; and a programmatic book on religion and its publics. Jones is published widely in the field of Protestant theology, while also engaging various streams of liberationist theology, political theology, and critical theory.
